Today is International Pronouns Day!
Today is International Pronouns Day, a day to shed light to the importance of respecting all people by referring to them using the pronouns they determine for themselves. This is an issue that particularly affects transgender, non-binary, and gender fluid people, but we all need to shoulder the responsibility of normalizing respect for people by respecting their pronouns.
I am extremely proud of the constant strides my office has taken and continues to take towards this goal. We aren’t perfect. We make mistakes. But evolution isn’t about always getting things right the first time. And making mistakes is not a reason to give up — it’s a reason to keep trying, and to try harder.
Above all, we want you to know that we see you, we hear you, and we respect you.
